The first William Tell story on the big screen!
In a village high in the Swiss Alps, proud master archer and former hero of the King's wars William TELL peacefully farms his land with his adoring wife ZORA and three young sons WALTER, VILMOS and JARROD. Then their idyllic life is shattered by the arrival of a tyrannical tax collector, GESSLER.
When Tell refuses to bow to Gessler's cruel whims the tax collector decides to make an example of him. He arrests Tell and his family and refuses to release them unless... Tell shoots an apple from his son's head with his lethal crossbow.
With no choice Tell is forced to confront a father's nightmare, to risk his children's lives in order to save them. Regardless, even after accomplishing the perilous task Gessler goes back on his word and Tell is sent to prison while Gessler rallies every sinister means in his power to coerce Zora to marry him.
However with his family at stake Tell isn't one to accept defeat no matter the odds. Escaping his captors Tell embarks on a mission to rescue his family, and on that mission discovers there's only way he and his family will ever truly be free - by liberating his home from the tyranny of Gessler forever.
